Grandparent Scam caller claiming to be grandson needing money sent to be released from jail

On July 29, caller told my elderly mother he was grandson and needed money to get out of jail. Caller gave her instructions to get money out of bank, go to Walgreens and buy 2 debit cards for $450 each and call "attorney David Berkley" at 718-594-1884 with debit card number. incident reported to local authorities who said there is no recourse. Later call to number gets message "You have reached the New York Legal Aid Society. Leave a number and an attorney will call you back."
