I was browsing on my google safari on my i phone and I accidentally clicked on an ad that brought me to a website saying my I phone was locked through apple due to illegal activity. My phone would not let me leave that page or do anything else on my browser. So I called the number and some guy answers saying he was with cyber security and that I was looking at child pornography and telling me all the legal consequences and saying that I was going to have to go to court or that I could do an out of court trial but if I did that I had to pay 300$ on a google play card for them to be able to install the protection program on my phone to see if anyone had hacked my phone to prove it wasn’t me. They also wanted me to go to only gas stations to find the card and not stores like Walmart or cvs. The guy sounded very convincing pretty much saying that he’s going by what he sees in the system and what it all flagged up and that even if I’m saying I’m innocent that he still doesn’t know that and he’s just doing his job and taking the actions saying I have to hire a lawyer and go to court or the other option I mentioned above. Finally the guy was wanting me to pay 500 for out of court fees to have the case go away and that I was good to go because the program they said they installed showed hackers on my phone and I was innocent. He also did mentioned if they did find hackers that apple would refund the 300$ and also the 500$. I ended up googling the number I called and found some fishy information like the stuff I was experiencing. I did some research and from all the clues adding up now of how they wanted the payment makes me for sure believe this website is a big scammerShow more...
