My name is ***** I work in downtown Long Beach, CA World Trade Center, on Jan 27 2018 we contacted "DJ HAVOK" to DJ for our company party at the WTC in one of the suits our company had rented for Feb 3 2018.
We told him this is a professional, up-scale type of event and that we wanted him to play 90's, funk, and alternative music from 7pm to 11pm. DJ HAVOK had agreed with the time and the type of music, he told us he will be charging $65 for the 4-5 hours but he needed the money upfront so he could repair a white macbook where all his music was in, we told him we can't do that and that he will be paid in full when he is done DJ'ing, he told us:
"I won't be able to DJ for you if you don't pay me upfront since I would need to fix my computer first and catch the bus to the party... I will DJ for $40 instead of $65 if you pay me now"
my assistant agreed and gave him two-twenties.
"DJ HAVOK" Goes MIA On Saturday Feb 3 2018 we called "DJ HAVOK" on his cellphone at 1pm but it went straight to voicemail, we tried to call DJ HAVOK again at 2pm and 3:30pm. At 5pm he hadn't heard a word from him, 7pm comes around and NOTHING, one of my coworkers ended up calling one of her nephews to come DJ for us.
We were very disappointing in him since he gave us his word. On Feb 4 the company CEO told us to make a police report with the Long Beach Police Department, so we did.
We're a well respected telecommunication company and we don't want to put DJ HAVOK phone number or address online all we want for him to do it return the money and an apology for myself and our CEO. After doing a little research we found that DJ HAVOK has been scamming people for awhile now, here is a online RipOff Report from someone else, and here.
On monday Feb 5 2018 one of my coworkers shows me a video on DJ HAVOK's Instagram page, he's records himself smoking dope on video the day he's suppose to be DJ'ing for us.
