I needed a manual for my VW beetle and found factorymanuals.com I paid them $59 dollars for the manual and I get an email stating that my manual would be ready or download within 72 hours. I bought this digital manual because I was in the middle of working on my car and needed to look serval things up at the time not 72 hours later. So that same day I emailed them for a refund letting them know that why. Two days later I received a email letting me know my manual was ready for download. I did not download it since I had already requested a refund. Months later I was working on my car again and remembered about this issue so I checked Paypal to see if a refund had been issued, it had not. I contacted factorymanuals letting them know that I had requested a refund the same day I bought the manual and since so much time had gone by I requested to either receive my money back or get the manual. They responded the same day asking for the transaction number which I provided. This was on April 6 and they have not contacted me since, nor are they responding to my emails.Show more...
I want my $59 dollars back.
I don't recommend them
On 2/28/19, I purchased a PDF copy of a set of Owner and Maintenance Manuals for my 2019 Ford F150 from www.factory-manuals.com.
The manuals were advertised as being created on a demand basis and being VEHICLE (by VIN #) SPECIFIC......VERY appealing concept. I purchased the Deluxe Edition which was advertised to include working hyperlinks to help navigate through the more than 17,000 pages. The Deluxe Version was also supposed to include more Electrical Connector Details.
I paid $129.99 for the manual through PayPal with my City Credit Card, sent my VIN Number, and then waited for my manual to be created. It was created, as promised, within 24 hours, and I was emailed the link to download it. The download went well, and upon opening the PDF document, there were indeed numerous Owners and Maintenance Manuals included in it. At first glance, this all looked very impressive…… So impressive I wrote some raving reviews.
However, after studying and attempting to use the PDF Manuals for roughly 8 hours, I realized that what I was sent was very different than what I was promised.
1. The only VIN specific information was a very small section 8 pages long in the front of the other over 17,000 pages. This was simply a coded "build list" that my dealer salesman had already given to me (uncoded). This "Vin Specific" information was in no way linked, cross referenced, or connected to any other areas of the Owner or Service manuals. This information was basically useless.
2. ALL of the Owner and Service Manuals included were UNIVERSAL in nature and intended for ALL variations of 2019 F150s, NOT just my VIN # as promised, so there were reams of unrelated information to wade through.
3. Very importantly, the document contains hundreds of hyperlinks that do not work as promised, making it extremely difficult to navigate around the manuals.
4. There are some electrical circuits, connectors, and harnesses in my Truck that ARE NOT SHOWN in the Electrical Sections.
After realizing the shortcomings of the document, I called Helm Inc., and I confirmed what I suspected. Helm is the ONLY authorized distributor of Ford Motor Company Documentation, at least in the US. Helm does indeed sell Service /Electrical CD-ROMS with WORKING Hyperlinks, and a money back guarantee. I ordered one. I cannot speak to the legality of what transpired between me and this company which I believe is located in Dubai, U.A.E., but I am certain I want a refund, I do not want to pay for this inferior product, nor do I want to be in possession of potentially stolen merchandise.
I have sent at least 3 emails to the company requesting a refund and explaining why. I promised to destroy the PDF upon receiving my refund. At first they debated me. Now they are ignoring me.
Refund of $129.99
I found a website to download an automotive repair manual. I paid the $49.99 amount that was asked and then the programming allows me to download the files. Only the file was instructions for an order form. It was haphazardly constructed (lots of mistakes). There was no address or contact number; only a name of Bruce. He said he would take the order and print up the pages that I needed for the manual and send them to me. Didn't say by was carrier it was to be shipped. Lots of flags.Show more...
Restituation in the amount of $49.99, the website removed and the individual(s) prosecuted.
