A "blue screen of death" came onto my computer with a number to call to fix problem. It was written to infer it was a Microsoft number. They wanted to charge $300.00 and when I said I was not working much they dropped it to $200.00. On a conference call with my credit card holder they were able to hear information to confirm who I was etc. I now feel I need to cancel this card and get another to protect myself.

I had same scam saying they were micro soft. Credit card billed to safepaze.com. Repair shown was ABC repair. I'm out 350$ Bank of America says being I agreed to pay it I can't get a refund. That is so wrong. Safepaze should not be allowed to keep my money. I even shut down my PC after seeing ABC repair. I expected to see MICRO SOFT WINDOWS. AS A SENIOR I know nothing about PC 's and was taken. The bank should refuse to pay them being I called and reported it same night.
Tired of scams

Same exact thing happened to me. I am now trying to figure out if first choice is a scam. Safepaze charged me 4 different "fees" (on top of the charges from First Choice) which I did email them about. I've done a of of research on this (it happened last Friday) and safepaze is the payment processing company First Choice Tech Support uses. I did find First Choice on the list of Microsoft's Pinpoint Partner program (silver level), but I really don't know if that means much. You have to type in 1st choice tech support not "first" on the Microsoft page for the list of companies. Here's what they did to me-blue screen of death with the pop-up that clearly looked like Microsoft. I called the number where "Mike" said "oh, been hearing this a lot tonight." So they "fixed" my pc and installed "webroot". I called the next day because I had been charged more than quoted and I did get a $100 refund, but still shelled out 550 total, plus now these "fees" from safepaze. The more I think on it, the more I'm pretty sure I got scammed. They won't directly answer my question of "how does your company just randomly know I got the blue screen and to send a pop-up" insinuating that I believe the blue screen was a fake. Usually MS will have a cute smiley face with a message or whatever. First Choice has a lot of bad complaints on BBB, but I have to add most were resolved. There are good ones too but I'm just too cynical to believe they're from outsiders and not the company itself. IDK, but I hope I haven't been taken for all that money plus infected with something on my laptop when they remotely connected. They did fix a problem for me last night, and seem very professional etc, but I just keep reading bad things about them. I am worried and wish I could get a definite answer as to whether First Choice is legit or not.

I had a similar experience. The number given to fix problem clearly stated it was a Microsoft number. I called the number and throughout the conversation I believed I was speaking with Microsoft. They asked for remote access and began working on my computer. They asked for a credit card number, and thinking I was being helped by Microsoft I gave them the number. There was a problem with the card and they asked for another card. I gave them a card with another bank that worked. It was not until things were finished that I learned I had been charged $600. The charge stated that the company was G2S-Safepaze. The representative I spoke with said they are a Florida company operating under the name First Choice Tech Support. I called the bank and was told the transaction had been processed in Cyprus. I had had no complaints about my computer and wonder what they think they did for $600. Their web address is http://www.firstchoicetechsupport.com. Their phone is 855-875-1572. I would hope that MIcrosoft will take some action against this company to protect the public.
