I tried to access my laptop around noon, and a pop screen said my computer was locked and I can't access it until I call them and they would find the solution. So I called the number,a guy answered he had the Indian accent and he explained to me the process, he told me that my IP line was infected with some virus and that they could clean fix it for me. They also said how much it actually cost to fix that kind of problem but they said they will do it for 200 and some change and I said I don't have that kind of money so they brought it down to 129.99 so "supposedly" they fixed it and clean out the virus and installed some add block software, but I don't know much about computers so, he said they don't take any card or personal info, he said just mail a check or money order to the address he gave me. That same day I was wondering if it was legit or true. So I decided to look them up under the scams and I guess it was a scam. The only site I access was my yahoo account, but I have change my password over my cell. I wonder how I get affected if they did not get any personal info other then that I access my yahoo while they were still having control over my laptop?Show more...
