I was having trouble with Quick Books Online. After log-in, the program could not connect and there was a message to contact support. A phone number was not provided so I looked on the internet for Quicken Support, but got a fraud site. They said that my Quick Books was corrupted. After getting on to my computer, Shaun said that it was the Trojan virus and fixing it was going to cost $1999.99 for our whole system with a lifetime guarantee and monthly rechecking. He wanted me to pay by debit card and said that he would have to add sales tax if I used a credit card.
He loaded freeware of CC Cleaner and put the activity screen up for about an hour and 1/2. I don't think that we even had the Trojan exe file, because Mac's don't use exe files. I think this is a rip-off, fraud. They are attempting to charge my credit card in 3 semi-equal charges.
I connected to QuickBooks 4/29/17 and was able to get their direct support number. They had server issues on the days that I could not connect, so the problem was on their end. Intuit/Quicken does not know nor do they contract service through Quantum Benefit / I Four Inc and they are very sorry that I had this problem. They confirmed that there are websites pretending to be Quicken support.
I plan to dispute the credit card charges.
