Justin Chance Spector, now operating at Miami Lauderdale Cars, listed a beautiful 2005 VW Beetle on eBay; photos showed a beautiful car; described as in "excellent condition" on both interior and exterior, excellent mechanical condition, no check engine lights, blah blah blah. What I received was a piece of junk that was literally held together by duct tape. The the photos on eBay were so heavily manipulated, even the color wasn't the same! To begin:
1) Instead of the vibrant blue shown in pics, the color was pale, discolored blue, with yellowing;
2) both panels of both doors were falling off the door; you cannot close the passenger door without holding up the panel from the inside. My husband mentioned it might have been used for running drugs, because why else would BOTH panels of the doors be completely unhinged?
3) it's a convertible - the mechanics of the top do not work;
4) check engine light is on;
5) side passenger mirror is broken;
6) A/C not working properly;
7) Crack in rear window;
8) glove compartment broken, cannot be opened.
I have since contacted other people on this site who were also scammed by Justin Spector; it is apparently a group of guys, including Justin (who has many aliases - read all the comments). I was assured by another member of their crew - I know him as John, but his name is apparently Jonathan Benyahuda (I'm spelling that by sound - do not know if that's correct spelling) - that this car did not have any engine lights on, that the convertible top worked properly, and that the interior was in excellent condition and the car was mechanically sound. So, read through the comments - the list of numbers I have so far are as follows:
Justin Spector - 561-480-0420, 954-805-1157, 813-291-6540;
Jonathan - 972-676-9981
Steven Spector (who I think is his brother) - 561-699-9887
The only numbers that I know for certain are working today (9/25/19) are 954-805-1157 (listed under Miami Lauderdale Cars) and Jonathan's personal cell, 972-676-9981. Justin goes through a lot of burner phones, so I don't know how long they will be active. He is currently responding to emails from [email protected]
I have retained an attorney. If he thought I would roll over, he was wrong. I may never see my money, but after he is forced to retain counsel to defend himself, he won't see it either.
I purchased a 2000 BMW 528 from Justin on eBay in September, 2014. His eBay user name at this time was Blackskyblueocean and his phone number provided was 305-306-2161 (he is currently using the phone number 561-570-7366). The eBay listing stated that the purchase of the vehicle included an additional (4) sets of BMW wheels and transportation was to be paid for by him. The ad also stated that the car was always garage kept, never smoked in, was in perfect mechanical condition (“no check engine or other warning lights on and everything works”), came with all “books and records and that the interior was in almost new condition. When the car was delivered, it was shipped COD, the additional wheels were not included and the car was in terrible disrepair (rust, dents, heavily damaged front bumper, missing paint, LCD screens in rear seat rests not functioning, ABS light on the dash was on, there was a severe coolant leak, the rear windows were not functioning, missing spare tire and jack, there were cigarette burns in the seats and dash, tears in the console, the grill was removed and broken in the process of removal (the delivery driver stated that Justin had to remove the grill in order to jump start the car). Additionally, Justin signed the title and bill of sale as Jason Morris.
I contacted Justin through eBay and through the phone number provided and he agreed that he was going to ship me the wheels and reimburse me for the purchase of a battery. I never received either. About a week went by and Justin stopped responding to my texts and emails, so I called him, but the phone number was disconnected and his eBay account has been disabled. After lots of digging, I found Justin selling cars on eBay again under another username (Palmbeach_Realtor) and with the phone number of 561-440-5236. When I called the number and finally got him to answer, he hung up on me and refused to take any of my calls or respond to any texts. After a couple of weeks under the new eBay username, Justin’s account was again disabled and he started selling cars under the username of icarflorida and switched his phone number to 305-306-3781. Additionally, I found Justin selling the same cars on the Miami Craigslist site and using the phone number of 561-921-7155; I called him at that number and was able to get him to answer one time, but now he refuses to answer my calls or texts. The 561-921-7155 number is for an iPhone that he has been using for quite some time (he has now disabled incoming calls to that phone).
After numerous texts, and voice mails, Justin conceded that the car was a POS and to “make things right”, he would relist the car on eBay and reimburse my money once the car sold. He relisted the car on eBay, but had his latest eBay account canceled (due to negative feedback) prior to the car being sold. He refuses to return any calls or texts now.
I dug around for more information on Justin and I have found quite a few similar complaints from other purchasers and I have provided the links to their stories and other helpful information about Justin below. You will see that Justin has used numerous different eBay accounts then the ones I provided you previously, to keep his scam going and has used numerous phone numbers and email addresses to keep his wire and mail fraud scam going.
Most recently (April 13th, 2015) Justin has posted on Scam Guard under a fictitious name that I sold him a car and that was the vehicle was not as described – Justin did this in retaliation for me continuing to contact him for a refund for the BMW and because I have made others aware of his scams and how he continues to change eBay accounts and phone numbers to continue to sell his misrepresented vehicles. I have never sold a car online.

Seen beautiful car on ebay. Made a agreement which included shpg for the car for the $4000 insurance check I told him I got to replace my car. He was to call me after I wired funds & tell me when pickup scheduled & where title would be. Never called back. Then transport driver called & said your car will be there in morn & its $700. I was upset-told him I didnt have any more money & that was not the deal. So unable to pay him he took car home & is chrging stg each day. The title was not in car anywhere. So I went to see car & it had a stench of a car that had been flooded & then set for long period of time. Paint off spoiler(it was pink not red like the car), rust beyond normal on rotors, rust inside edges of tail lites & elsewhere, mold along edges of underside of trunk lid & water & mold stains on the 4ft x 4ft mat in back-this is why he had the carpet & seats ,replaced but didnt do back & it smelled awful. There was rub marks & scratches on body & door did not line up with rocker panel driver side & the car had a battey that was no good & the car would not even run with a newer battery when placed in it.. This explains the drivers statement that whenhe picked it up he had to help the guy push it on the trailer & was told that it was only OUT OF GAS. Justin Spector KNEW that car didnt run! Would not start any way!! And he lied to driver when identifying self as Bailey Clark cause driver was sent a picture we got off arrest site & said it was same person. Why alll the lies if on the up & up? Had to call ebay about title & they finally got him to send it but it was a 2nd title which to me was suspicious too. My family has done a lot of research trying to get to the bottom of this but not having to much luck getting help from these places to call. Ebay says its their job to get the title & thats all which I feel is a little lame. This was my first experience doing the internet but I saw the pictures & it looked great-had to be another car. The ad said free shpg & he agreed to pay shpg for my $4000 insurance money but after he got my money he changed the ad to say free shpg if pay full price to cover his self. He would not answer any of my 11 calls asking him to call me back & what about the title etc. so he was avoiding cause he knew. So ebay had to get the title thing settled for me. He listed with ebay under name of Classic Car Collector, but info says he also uses other names too. He must change names when he sells a car. He said he was not a dealer but he is selling cars cause one of the numbers driver got & shared with me was for a Bryan Crisp who I called & he answered angerly & used foul & filthy language TILL.... I told him who I was & what I was trying to find out. He stated that Justin Chance Spector paid him $300 to set his cars there to sell -so he must be selling cars!!! One of the persons who knew Justin said Justin had a problem with an elderly gentleman before this so I am probably not the first. But I was told you can only sell 2 cars a year if not a dealer. So I have been frauded out of my money to replace my car because that car is a piece of crap he pawned off on me because I was looking for a special car to replace one I had. I am sure there must be some kind of law against ripping off elderly people & blatantly lying & misrepresenting the whole car with counterfeit pictures & lies just to get threir money. I am 72 years old & get $540 a MONTH soc sec so that was my car money & it sure would be helpful if someone made this man pay my money back no matter how long it would take. Jail would be second but I feel people who have to make restitution learn more from that then just doing a stint in jail lying around for aperiod. But jail if nothing else should a definete!!
