It all started when I'd had been applying for positions through ZipRecruiter.
On 06/06/2017 I received an email from a David Moore who's email address is and it states:
"Good morning, I am contacting you in regards to your resume that was forwarded to our head department for the Customer Service Representative Position. The starting pay is $28.00 /hr for this position. The hiring desk has reviewed your resume and we believe you have the required qualifications to proceed.
I want you to download and setup a Google hangout and if you got one already use it, add Mrs.Betty Fitzgerald the Interview Manager And message her on this ID
( [email protected] ) for the interview/briefing and comprehensive job details. This is our first step to proceed further. He will be on online waiting for you.
I thought this was strange as I've never gotten a position with any company this way ever, but I thought maybe this was some kind of new technique. So I proceeded to the next step, downloaded Google Hangouts and contact "Betty Fitzgerald".
The conversation with Betty was also very strange as she had a lot of typos during her "interview" and I was to respond to everything I finished reading with "I am through". So I answered all questions correctly and she told me to stay on standby as she was going to talk with the rest of her team on if I was a good fit. She came back with the results that I was hired and asked how I would like to receive my payments (which I chose direct deposit). She told me to be online at 8 a.m. the next morning to start my training.
So I got up for training and messaged "Betty" who then gave me the email to my "training supervisor". His email was "[email protected]" (Kelly Butterfield). He started by asking me about my form of payment. I automatically knew something was up once I seen his email due to any big company such as Allegis Group is going to have an email format of "[email protected]". I asked Kelly about that and he stated they were having "technical difficulties".
I then did my google research (as I always do) and could not find anything on neither Betty nor Kelly. But, I found something on "David Moore" who's name came up as "David Rovsek" on LinkedIn.com and Facebook and he has been the owner of this "King Kong Production Vehicles, Inc" for 20 years. So either David has been hacked or he is the mastermind behind this scam. I bet he's going to hate that he sent the first email through his actual company email.
I called out Betty and Kelly and then just blocked them.
I advise people to always Google the emails that are sending you messages and educate yourself on whom you are dealing with.
