New Horizon participated in a Job Fair on Fort Bragg on February 2017. A recruiting representative named Lakesha Rivera approached me as I was checking out various employment tables. She said that New Horizon would be interested in hiring me as a full-time, online instructor. I handed her my resume and she gave her business card to me. She told me to call her in a few days so that the HR department could review my resume. I tried calling and emailing her for about a week and was not able to get into contact with her. She didn't respond to emails and her voice mail was conveniently full. I talked to an HR manager at the company and let her know the situation. She said that type of employment opportunity did not exist but she will get back with me. She tried to coerce me into paying for IT training and having New Horizons place me in a job. These New Horizon recruiters are a joke. They attempt to prey on soldiers getting out of the Army. I have over 20 years of military service ad expect a professional engagement with a potential employer. They try to trick you into just using the GI Bill so you don't think about cost. These IT companies are a scam and these recruiters should not be allowed to operate on military bases. Please be aware of employers that want you to pay for training.Show more...
