A friend fell for this scam. She doesn't believe it is a scam bc she received her promised cash. I learned about it bc my name was on the list. I did not follow through bc they were asking for a lot of money. I want these people to get caught so that no other victims fall for this. The site tells the names of those who have received the funds already. It comes from either India or Pakistan typically. You pay what they ask by Western union and they get you personal info plus upwards of $2500 from you.

Just got this message as well through Facebook Messenger. They told me to text them through the phone and that I should update my contact information. Here is the text: Have you heard about Federal Government department of Workers Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) and Department of Health & Human Service (DHHS) Have you heard about the IMF poverty alleviation awarding money to some set of lucky winner that apply for it. IT IS A SCAM!!!

I receive infor from a friend that she received $300,000 from the Workers Compensation Appeals Board and MY name was on "the list". See gave me the contact name so I contacted her. Basically, she wanted my personal information, including my monthly income. We talked back and forth, and there were so many misspelled words, she could NOT possibly have been a government employee, like "true" for "through". I boiled down to me sending her a $1,500 "handling fee", and she wanted it in a form that I COULD NOT cancel. Needless to say, I passed on this one. FRAUD!!!

"She doesn't believe it is a scam bc she received her promised cash." Any follow-up information on your friend since she got the cash?

Someone tried to pull the same scam on me by high-jacking my aunt's face book account and telling me that she had won $100,000.00 and that she had seen my name on the list of winners. They wanted me to pay a $760.00 processing fee to claim my money... that's when I knew it was B.S.!
