I was contacted by a rep named Eric Schwartz advising that I could obtain a loan from Stockdale Financial in the amount of $10,000. He claimed they work with people with less than perfect credit, and would direct the deposit the funds in 1-2 hours if I signed a contract and remitted a collateral amount of $710.25. The monies had to be sent by Western Union or Moneygram or the deal would be void. They also requested a copy of my most recent paystubs to verify my employment. I obliged them on this request. After sending the signed contract, paystubs, and fee via Moneygram I received another call stating that the private lender requested that I pay insurance on the loan in case of any litigation. The insurance was $3000.00. They stated they would pay $2250 of it, and requested I pay an additional $750.00 to cover my end. I was really skeptical and upset, because the original contract stated that the insurance was "optional". They ultimately sent a "guarantee letter" stating that the $750.00 would be my final payment, and if they defaulted on the agreement, I could seek legal recourse. Once again, I obliged their request and sent the requested $750.00. Low and behold, after sending the money again by Moneygram, I receive a call stating the private lender wants me to pay another $750.00 to cover the insurance. At that point I was livid, and requested a refund! They claimed I had to wait 14-30 days to receive a refund. I informed them I would do everything in my power to take action to have them shut down so that no other person can be taken advantage of in this fashion. Note: The address listed on their website is not their address. Its the office of a therapist. They are not listed with the governing body of the state of Florida to provide loans or financial services. And of course, they are not listed with the Better Business Bureau. They are completely fraudulent.Show more...
