My computer had an alert and was frozen with a number to call Microsoft. I called and unfortunately too late I realized it wasn't and they got my info and card #. They cleaned up my computer and while I was talking to them my bank called and I had several suspicious charges on my card. The bank cancelled my card and they didn't get my money. They kept trying to call me back and now today I have the same alert warning on my screen and a frozen computer.Show more...
To shut down this scam company.
I don't recommend them
Identity Theft Risk:
I was having trouble with popups on my computer, which is an Apple. So I went into my apple account to see if they had anything for a virus. Then this guy with an accent called. He asked for my phone number and passwords for my phone and computer. He offered to install virus protection for a fee. He offered several and I chose 5 years for $799.99. I gave him my credit card info and was charged. He went ahead and made sure my firewall was clicked and then began installing some virus control. After he finished, a woman called to make sure that it was all okay and I responded "yes". They had installed a portal that needed a password. He gave me the password. Later I checked and all seemed right. Three weeks later, I couldn't get into it. So then I had my internet provider remove the portal, which went to nothing, and install a virus control. The portal was for them to use to gain access to my computer and personal info. I reported the scam to my credit card, Bank of America, and they said they would check it out. Later they stated that everything was correct and the charges would stand. They send a 19 page report with there findings. The report was not done correctly because it had two different company names besides the original company name, which they evidently did not contact. B of A assigned two separate ID numbers to the casefile, which means they have two separate files. This was on one report. They refuse to remove the charges and to investigate further. I am at a loss at what to do. I don't feel I should pay for something I did not receive.Show more...
