I was on the internet a year ago when a warning box popped up that my computer was disabled due to security breaches and to call this number to fix it. My computer was totally locked up. I couldn't close it or get out of the pop-up. So I called. They went into my computer. They showed me all the warnings that had been sent to me, which I had never seen. They showed me how much good security would cost -- thousands! So theirs was a good deal, even though I already had Norton. So I ended up paying $199 to fix it, and another $378 for a 2 year deal that covered up to 5 devices. I hadn't had to contact them until now. I got a new printer and I was having trouble connecting my phone and tablet to it. Their phone # was disconnected. I looked online to find a new phone number. I found their website, but I also saw all these complaints/scam reports. It was just like mine. I also found that the FTC of Pennsylvania filed a complaint against them. I also keep getting messages now that my anti-virus software has expired, but I paid for 2 years. Now what to do???

This company will place malware on your computer which will pop up and ask the user to call their number to fix the problem. When you call in, they will request to connect your computer to their server, which at this point, I assume, they will phish your computer. When I called, I had to call multiple times before I could convince a worker to give me their company name and address, I had to lie, saying I was sending in a payment to get that info.

I was surfing the Internet when a pop-up came up and froze my computer. It said I had been infected with a virus and had to call the number to have it fixed by tech support. I called the number and the guy with an Indian accent answered. He asked for remote access through teamviewer which I stupidly allowed. He asked for my name and address which I gave. He tried telling me that I had a virus called Koobface. Then he said it would be $600 to fix it! I told him I had to check with my husband before I spent that kind of money and then he got very insistent. I then got on my internet on my iPhone and discovered it was a scam! No money lost but personal information jeopardized.

Ubertech support.com fraudulently misrepresents itself to consumers.
Yesterday I received a pop up window with an auditory warning that my security on my macbook pro was in jeopardy and that I needed to call the phone # on the pop up. I could not quit the pop up or get out so I called the attached phone # and got Ubertech support.com rep Tom Parker, an Indian man with a thick accent. He adamantly misrepresented Ubertech to me in order to get remote access of my computer and try to sell me security software or charge me hundreds of dollars to fix supposed problems on my macbook pro.
He told me that Ubertech support.com fixes apple products from security threats. I asked him again about that since I know that isn't true - he again misrepresented ubertech as an apple related geek squad. I asked him several times as he wasted 30 minutes of my time, if he was going to try and sell me security software, which I did not want. He said no - He inferred he would diagnose and “fix” my security problems for free. Multiple times he attempted to hard sell my need for security when ultimately he wanted to charge me $179 to fix bugs and corruption which he said I had on my system. He warned me that if I didn’t let him fix things, I would be the target of identity theft and other threats. I ultimately told him to forget about it.
Today I went to my apple store and they confirmed ubertech is in no way related to Apple nor are they needed to fix anything Apple. They recommended I file a claim with the police about Ubertechsupport.com. The Apple store can do a diagnostic of my laptop for free and there is no real need to purchase additional security software from Ubertech.
Consumers BEWARE! ubertechsupport.com is fraudulently misrepresenting itself to consumers.

Ubertech has people locking up your computer, then a voice says someone is stealing information and to call their number. Then they want 200dollars to unlock the problem, they created in the first place. They were a virus which I had to do a deep security scan to find the infectious virus they created for their later use.
