WorldMark by Wyndham,
On July 14, 2018, I purchased a membership in Anaheim California. My daughter attends California State University, San Marcos and my son attends University of California at Riverside, California.
It was my intent to have use my timeshare in lieu of hotel accommodations when I visited my children. Ideally, the resorts in Oceanside and Anaheim, would have been perfect. During the presentation, I was told that RCI offered prime rates (below wholesale) for hotels.
WorldMark is a fraudulent entity, because I was not informed that you have to book your travel plans a year or two in advance. RCI does not offer hotels at prime rates below third party online travel agency such as Priceline, Hotel.com etc. I travel consistently and this timeshare system is not conducive to my travel needs.
Again, the resorts are booked up years in advance, and the RCI exchange system is commissioned based and does not offer any discounts.
In the middle of August 2018, I called to inquire about my “Welcome Package” that I never received. I was told it would be arriving in the mail in several weeks. I never received it. The next call was to inquire about New York Fashion week which was again in August 2018. I was told that there was not any vacancies.
In October 2018, I planned a trip to Tampa, Florida and I needed accommodations. I knew that there was not any resorts in the Tampa area, so I called RCI for a hotel accommodations. Their prices was higher than the third party travel agents, plus RCI tried to sell me another vacation package for $2800. I requested my membership be cancelled.
Lastly even with the RCI Extra Vacations certificates, you cannot use them at any tourist locations (Dolphin Cove) or at any coastal cities.
At this point, I would like to cancel my membership per my request on my first telephone call in August 2018. WorldMark is based upon a fraudulent system which prey on vacationers to enjoy resorts that are completely booked to their capacity for years in advance.
In September 2018, I spend several nights in Ontario, then I went to San Marcos. I had to spend $500 plus on hotels, because WorldMark did not have any vacancies and RCI prices were higher than Priceline or Hotel.com.
In October, 2018, I traveled to Tampa, Florida and spend approximately $1000 on hotels. WorldMark did not have any resorts in Tampa and RCI prices were higher than Priceline, and Hotels.com.
Again WorldMark is a fraudulent business model. At this point, I am request that my membership and my monthly payments be refunded and the payments made toward the down payment be refunded immediately. I requested my membership be cancelled back in August and now again in October 2018.
If I do not receive a letter of cancellation and a refund of all monies in 15 days after you receive this letter, I will sue Worldmark for monies paid and damages.
I would like to cancel the time share agreement.
